An Acceptable Pie Crust
Good enough for just about any job and as easy as its contents.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup ice water
Directions:
- Combine flour and salt in a large bowl. Cut in shortening until mixture looks crumbly. Stir in water (strain out the ice) until the mixture forms a ball. Divide in half and shape into balls. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for four hours/overnight. Or do like I do and stick in the freezer for 15 minutes, which works fine.
- Roll out dough on heavily floured countertop. Don't over work it.
