Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Wanna make pork chops even more unhealthy? Here you go.

Ingredients

  • 4 (3/4 inch) pork chops
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil
  • 2 Tbs brown sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 Tsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tart apples, peeled and sliced
  • 3 Tsp pecans (optional)

1. Preheat oven to 175°. Place medium-sized dish to warm in oven.

2. Heat large skillet over medium-high heat. Brush chops lightly with oil and place in pan. Cook for five to six minutes or until done, turning occassionally. Transfer to warm dish and keep warm in oven.

3. In small bowl, combine brown sugar, salt and pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add butter to skillet and stir in brown sugar mixture and apples. Cover and cook until apples are just tender. Remove apples with slotted spoon and arrange over chops. Keep warm in oven.

4. Continue cooking sauce uncovered in skillet until slightly thickened, but keep an eye as sauce will carmelize quickly. Spoon sauce over apples and chops. Sprinkle with pecans, if desired.
