Pizza Crust
The best pizza crust ever made in any kitchen anywhere. Period.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/2 tsp brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 Tbs olive oil
- 3 1/3 cups (or more) flour
- In large bowl, dissolve yeast and brown sugar in warm water. Let sit 10 mintues.
- Stir salt and oil into yeast solution. Mix in 2 1/2 cups flour.
- Turn dough onto well-floured surface and knead in remaining flour until dough is no longer sticky. Place dough in well-oiled bowl and cover with clean cloth. Let dough rise until double, about one hour. Punch down dough and form a tight ball. Allow dough to rest for a few minutes before rolling it out. Use for favorite pizza recipe.
- Preheat oven to 425°. If you are baking dough on pizza stone you may place your toppings on dough and bake immediately. If you are baking your pizza in a pan, lightly oil the pan and let dough rise for 15 - 20 minutes before topping and baking.
- Bake pizza in preheated oven until cheese and crust are golden brown, about 15 minutes.
