Pizza Crust

 

The best pizza crust ever made in any kitchen anywhere. Period.

 

Ingredients

 

  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 Tbs olive oil
  • 3 1/3 cups (or more) flour

 

  1. In large bowl, dissolve yeast and brown sugar in warm water. Let sit 10 mintues.
  2. Stir salt and oil into yeast solution. Mix in 2 1/2 cups flour.
  3. Turn dough onto well-floured surface and knead in remaining flour until dough is no longer sticky. Place dough in well-oiled bowl and cover with clean cloth. Let dough rise until double, about one hour. Punch down dough and form a tight ball. Allow dough to rest for a few minutes before rolling it out. Use for favorite pizza recipe.
  4. Preheat oven to 425°. If you are baking dough on pizza stone you may place your toppings on dough and bake immediately. If you are baking your pizza in a pan, lightly oil the pan and let dough rise for 15 - 20 minutes before topping and baking.
  5. Bake pizza in preheated oven until cheese and crust are golden brown, about 15 minutes.
