Crockpot Whole Chicken: Spicy!
Very tender! And even if the young’uns like their food blandish, just scrape the spices off their serving, and they’ll be happy too.
- 4 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. paprika
- 1 tsp. cayenne powder
- 1 tsp. onion powder
- 1 tsp. thyme
- 1 tsp. white pepper
- ½ tsp. garlic powder
- ½ tsp. black pepper
- 1 large roasting chicken
- 1 c. onions, chopped, or one lemon, sliced.
Combine spices in small bowl.
Remove giblets and whatnot from chicken.
Rub ‘er down with the spices!
Refrigerate rubbed chicken overnight (you can omit this step, but it’s not quite as good).
If using onion, put in bottom of crockpot before adding chicken.
If using lemon, stuff into chicken cavity.
Cook on low 4-8 hours.
