Swiss Mushroom Loaf

Great party food. Almost worth cleaning the house and having people over just to eat this.

1 unsliced loaf (1 lb.) Italian bread
     8 oz Swiss cheese
     1 c. sliced fresh mushrooms
     ¼ c. butter or margarine
     1 small onion, finely chopped
1 ½ tsp. poppy seeds (optional)
     2 garlic cloves, minced
     ½ tsp. seasoned salt
     ½ tsp. ground mustard
     ½ tsp. lemon juice

Cut bread diagonally into one inch slices, to within one inch of bottom of loaf. Repeat cuts in opposite direction. Place cheese and mushrooms in each slit. Combine remaining ingredients and microwave for 2 minutes or till butter is melted (actually, I think I may have put the mushrooms in there too). Spoon over bread. Wrap loaf in foil and bake at 350 for 40 min. or till cheese is melted.
